Quran Competition Held in Melbourne
TEHRAN (IQNA) – The second edition of a Quran competition was held by Australia’s Shia organizations in Melbourne.
It was organized on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan in two age groups of teenagers and adults.
Quran recitation, Tarteel and memorization were the categories of the contest.
More than thirty male and female contenders competed in the three categories at the Khatam Al-Anbiya Center in Melbourne.
Winners were announced and awarded after Maghrib and Isha prayers on Sunday, which marked the birthday anniversary of Imam Hassan Mujtaba (AS).
According to the 2016 Census in Australia, the number of Muslims in Australia constituted over 600,000 people, or 2.6% of the total Australian population.
